On 27.09.2024 IQAC & WDC of Harimohan Ghose College jointly organized a Seminar and Workshop. The topic was "Shaktirupena Sansthita" : Self-defense for Women and Protection of children. The programme had two parts. The first part was a Seminar. Inspector Tanusree Thakur, a Police Officer from Lalbazar was the first speaker. She presented a very important lecture on Self-defence for Women & POSCO. After that an interactive session was started. The girl students took part in this session with a lot of interest and discussed about their problems with Inspector Tanusree Thakur. The boys of the college also shared their views.
The Second Speaker was Mousumi Pal, 5th Dan Black Belt, President, Shoto Karate Association, WB. Mousumi also highlighted the problems and spoke at length on self-defence for women in her lecture.
This Session was organized in Smart Class Room from 11:30 am to 1pm.
The Second Part ( 2pm to 4pm ) of this programme was demonstration of Self-defence for Women by Mousumi Pal and her ten students from Shoto Karate Association. They demonstrated various techniques of Self-defence. This session created tremendous excitement among the students of the college. They understood that this practice is very important for Self-defence as well as for self-confidence. This demonstration went on for two hours and the whole programme ended by 4pm. IQAC Coordinator Prof. Jayanta Mitra, teachers and staff members of the college were present on the occasion.
On 11.07.2023 IQAC & WDC of Harimohan Ghose College jointly organized a LGBTIQ + Sensitization Workshop in Smart Class Room from 12 noon. Ms Aliya Sk. was the resource person. She elaborately discussed the matter and many things about the Transgender people. Selected students and Teachers of the college took part in this Workshop. After the lecture an interactive session was started and the Teachers discussed with Ms Aliya how to deal with a student who has this kind of nature within himself or herself.
Principal Sir Dr. Prabir Biswas and IQAC Coordinator Prof Jayanta Mitra were also present in the Workshop.
ICC and WDC of HARIMOHAN GHOSE COLLEGE arranged a SENSITIZATION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME in collaboration with IQAC for three days ( 19.12.2023,21.12.2023 & 22.12.2023 ). On the
first day ( 19.12.2023 ) of the programme, there was a session on ' INTERNET USAGE FOR STUDENTS : AWARENESS ABOUT THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS'. In that session the speaker was Md. Asadullab khan from Cyber Cell of Kolkata Police. Officer Khan discussed very thoroughly about internet usage and cyber crime. Students of the college particularly first semester took very active part in this programme.Students from neighbouring schools like Garden Reach Mudiali Girls High School,Garden Reach Nut Behari Das Girls High School, Garden Reach Nut Behari Boys ,Garden Reach Mudiali High School along with their teachers actively participated in the programme
Principal Dr.Prabir Biswas and IQAC Coordinator Prof. Jayanta Mitra were present there and gave valuable speeches. The
convenor of the programme was Dr.Anrini Majumder and the members of the advisory Committee were Dr. Runa Chattopadhyay, Dr. Nilufa Khatun & Prof. Aparna Byapari.
The venue of the programme was smart class room and the timing was 11:30 PM to 2:35 PM. All the teachers of the college were present in the programme.
On the 2nd day(21.12.2023 ) the session was on 'GENDER-SENSITIZATION'. The speakers were Dr. Mayuri Mitra, a Theater personality,Teacher & Writer and Mr. Amar Chattopadhyay, a versatile Theater Personality. Both speakers delivered very valuable speeches on the topic and presented a drama ( Shruti Natak ) very relevant to the topic. The presentation was excellent and highly appreciated by the students and the teachers of the college. Before that the students also took part in an interactive session.
Principal Dr. Prabir Biswas and IQAC Coordinator Prof. Jayanta Mitra were present there. Principal Sir as the Chief Patron delivered the welcome address. Prof. Mitra delivered the inaugural speech.
The Convenor of the season was Prof. Pratima Banerjee and the members of Advisory Committee were Prof. Shehnaz Salahuddin, Dr. Sayantani Sur, Dr. Almas Hossain & Dr. Anasuya Halder.
The venue of the programme was smart class room and the timing was 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. All the teachers and students of the college were present there.
