The Department of History is one of the oldest departments of the institution. The Department is well-equipped to conduct three year B.A.Honours/General Course in History under CBCS system as well as Four-year Major in History and three year MDC under CCF system. The faculty of the Department has always lent their helping hands towards the students for their successful completion of their undergraduate course. Female education is encouraged throughout so as to encourage female empowerment. The Department also has a well-stocked Seminar Library, which helps the students in pursuing their studies. The faculty also at regular intervals organises educational tours, seminars and other co-curricular activities which, hereby, bring out the potential of the students pertaining to their syllabi. Publication of departmental magazine from the session 2022-2023 is a new feather on the cap of the department where the students get a platform of presenting their understanding of history. The most important positive aspect of the department is the amicable teacher-student relationship, that is looking forward to future upliftment of the department.

•Three Year B.A.Honours/General Course in History under CBCS system.
•Four Year Major in History and Three Year MDC under CCF system.

Since its inception, the department of History has tried to enrich it through many rare books and journals. This is today further supported by a well-stocked Central Library. The Department, in recent years, has also made the Seminar Library available to the students. The students are also open to ICT mode of teaching, besides normal lectures. Educational tours, seminars, etc also complement the academic resource of the Department. The Department has recently taken a step forward by publishing its Departmental Magazine, "HISTORIUM", which has become a platform for the students to express their academic understanding.
